2018 Subaru WRX vs. 2017 Volkswagen Golf GTI

  • The new WRX comes with standard all-wheel drive on every model. The new GTI is not available with all-wheel drive. You have to upgrade to the Volkswagen Golf R to get all-wheel drive and that model starts at over $35,000 MSRP.
  • The WRX comes equipped with a larger standard engine than the GTI does. Both vehicles come equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, but the Boxer engine in the WRX produces 268-horsepower while the engine in the GTI falls short with 210-horsepower.
  • The WRX offers more passenger volume than the GTI, with 96.6 cubic feet of space compared to 93.5 cubic feet in the GTI.

2018 Subaru WRX vs. 2017 Nissan Sentra Nismo

  • The WRX comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that produces 268-horsepower while the Nissan Sentra Nismo comes equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 188-horsepower.
  • The WRX comes with standard all-wheel drive across the board, while the Sentra Nismo only offers front-wheel drive.
  • The WRX is slightly more spacious than the Sentra Nismo is.

2018 Subaru WRX vs. 2017 Chevrolet Bolt

  • The new Subaru WRX has a starting MSRP price of $26,695 while the new Chevrolet Bolt starts at $36,620. That's nearly $10,000 that you could save choosing the WRX over the Bolt.
  • Every new WRX model comes equipped with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive while the new Bolt comes equipped with front wheel drive and doesn't offer an all-wheel drive model.
  • The new WRX comes equipped with a standard 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that produces 268-horsepower. The Bolt comes with an electric engine that produces 200-horsepower.
